Airports in China play a growing important role providing worldwide & nationwide connectivity. Robust gains in passenger traffic over the past years initiate new business opportunities in the airport sector. Airports of all sizes are investing in their future by enhancements, expansions, upgrading and new airport construction. A new breed of super-hub airports is going to appear in China, scuh as the new Beijing airport, the new Chengdu airport, the expanded Chongqing airport, the new Xiamen airport. In addition to that, many of the 2nd & 3rd tier cities in China have been approved either to construct new airports or upgrade their existing airport facilities to accommodate the rising passenger numbers.
Modern, Smart, environmentally friendly and cost competitive initiatives are being embraced by major China airports. Hosted in Chengdu, a fast growing economic powerhouse aiming to become China’s fourth-largest air hub, Escom's China Airport Development Summit gathers the government authorities, airport groups, designers, consultants, engineers and vendors in a two days closed door event with stimulating topics such as airport investment and international partnership, smart airport design & development, sustainable green airports, airport engineering, security and safety planning, airport IT & automation. It is the must-attend event providing informative and inspiring discussions pertaining to China’s current needs and it’s ambitious future. South East Asia’s large population, rapidly expanding middle class and booming economies provide perfect ingredients for rising investment and demand in air travel, both locally and internationally. It enjoy a per annum 8 percent growth rate in aviation sector in the next two decades. Moreover, The ASEAN Open Skies will generate additional 16.3 million international passengers by 2025. It all resulted in a wide range of current or planned investments in new airport development, expansion, upgrading and international cooperation in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and more.
With some 17,000 islands, a west to east distance greater than London to Moscow, a population of about 250 million and a rapidly growing number of middle class consumers, Indonesia's Demand for more and bigger airports is particularly intense. The country is preparing to build and relocate a total of 45 airports over the next decade.
The Airport Expansion & Upgrading Summit serves as the highest industry platform for government authorities and airport professionals to meet, network, share knowledge and strategies to meet the demand for green, smart & passenger-friendly airport facilities. It was a great pleasure meeting you and all attendees at this conference, and seeing the vibrant interactions that took place onsite. We were honored to host parties flying in from around the world to discuss the current situation in the region and how we can work together to create a beneficial future to boost the competitiveness of the region’s aviation infrastructure. The Airport Expansion & Upgrading Summit also served as the highest industry platform for government authorities and airport professionals to meet, network, share knowledge and strategies to meet the demand for green, smart & passenger-friendly airport facilities.
During the two days conferences many international and local experts shared numerous presentations and their visions with the delegates. The discussion panel has provided most valuable insight and opinions to answer questions regarding the way to invest, develop, partner with and manage the regional aviation facilities. I would like to thank our keynote speakers and panelists: starting with our event chairman, Tony Middleton, the Managing Director Asia Pacific of Periploi Aviation, for his contribution to this event as chairperson and as speakers.
